With more than half million square feet of solid hardwood flooring in stock in our distribution centers across North Georgia, First Atlanta Flooring is one of the largest supplier of hardwood floors in the area. In our inventory you can find many species and grades of unfinished and prefinished solid hardwood flooring. Our speciality is unfinished solid hardwood and we deal with more than 10 flooring mills and all our solid hardwood is 100% made in USA.
Solid Hardwood Grading
We purchase flooring only from mills that follows National Wood Flooring Association (aka NOFMA) grading standards. All our unfinished solid floors suppliers are certified by NOFMA. Only a few flooring mills in the United States are certified by NOFMA. Common grades are: Select, #1 Common or #2 Common. If you don’t see the stamp don’t buy it! Because you dont know what grade you are buying. Once again, in our stores you will find only “marked” bundles as we don’t buy from mills that don’t mark the bundles.
The standard thickness of solid flooring is 3/4 in. Unfinished solid hardwood flooring comes in bundles of approximate 20 square feet per bundle. On each bundle you should see the stamp with the grade of the flooring:
Always in Our Inventory
The length of a bundle is usually 7 feet and it can easily fit in a van. We permanently have in our inventory species like: American Red Oak, American White Oak, Southern Yellow Pine, Brazilian Cherry, American Hard Maple. The widths that we are stocking are the most common ones: 2-14″, 3-1/4″, 4″ and 5″. If you request wider widths like 6″, 7″, 8″ or even more don’t hesitate to contact us. We can get it for you.
