First Atlanta Flooring can’t guarantee to have the same products in the future to match a previous order.

Acclimation and Moisture Control

The first step after receiving your hardwood flooring is to acclimatize it. Solid hardwood floors might take anywhere from 5 to 14 days to acclimate. During this period, you’ll need a Moisture Reader to keep track of the moisture content of both your subfloor and your hardwood flooring.

If your hardwood flooring is 4″ or wider, you should aim for a moisture content differential of no more than 2% between your plywood subfloor and the hardwood flooring you’re installing. There can be a 3% difference between the hardwood floor and the subfloor for board widths below 4″.

The HVAC system must be turned on for at least 48 hours, windows and doors must not be opened during the acclimation period, and the wood flooring must be spaced properly across the sections where hardwood is being installed.

Measurement and Quantity

The buyer is accountable for the quantity and measurements specified on the invoice. The buyer will be charged for an extra shipment of materials.

First Atlanta Flooring is not responsible for the buyers’s ordering or measuring errors.

Claims

The state or federal court sitting in Gwinnett, Georgia will have exclusive jurisdiction over any and all claims, demands, and/or causes of action arising out of, or relating to the production, distribution, sale, installation, repair, or modification of our products.

For Claims, the buyer consents to the jurisdiction of Georgia’s courts. In the event that the litigant loses any civil action involving their claims, the purchaser undertakes to pay the attorney’s fees and costs incurred by First Atlanta Flooring in connection with the specific civil action.

The purchaser voluntarily waives the right to a jury trial on claims.

Warranty Claims

First Atlanta Flooring it’s a reseller so we do not manufacture the materials that we sell. As such, we assumes no liability for materials sold, and we make no representations or warranties or for the accuracy of any information provided by the manufacturer.

In the event of a warranty claim, the manufacturer may request, at the customer’s expense, an inspection by a third party. Inspections are handled by certified National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) inspectors. They are certified to assess culpability. Inspection costs fall on the customer. Some defect claims may necessitate sample removal for analysis. After determining the reason and conducting an analysis, responsibility for material replacement costs will be assigned.

The manufacturer must get the formal inspection report so the inspector’s findings can be evaluated. If the manufacturer’s product is proven to be defective, the customer will be fully reimbursed for the inspection costs. Due to most flooring problems being caused by inadequate maintenance, installation, and/or existing worksite circumstances, the warranty does not cover these situations. If the problem is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, First Atlanta Flooring may cover reasonable inspection charges.

Manufacturers also have the option of rejecting any report and hiring their own inspection firm to assess the flooring.
